Save Knutsford Fire Station

Cheshire Fire Authority in their Risk Management Plan are proposing in 2015 to downgrade Knutsford Fire Station on Mobberley Road from a station staffed with full time fire-fighters to an 'on call'station, staffed by people with other civilian jobs.

Along with job losses this means when a fire occurs these people will have to leave their place of work, travel to the fire station and get changed into their protective clothing before they can attend to the fire, making call-out times significantly longer.  The Knutsford Technical Rescue Unit that specialises in complex rescue scenarios is also being relocated to Lymm.

With every minute counting in a serious fire these cutbacks are putting people's lives in danger.  With the fire service budget rising to over £9.5M next year funded through our council tax, we deserve the full time, professional fire station Tatton residents are paying for.

Please sign this petition and encourage others in the area to express their disapproval at this dangerous cost cutting proposal.

VICTORY! - 4 Hours Of Free Parking Agreed At Knutsford Hospital

Cheshire East NHS Trust are planning to impose parking charges on visitors to Knutsford Community Hospital from April 2015. The hospital is used by many residents with chronic health conditions that require regular tests, meaning some people could pay large amounts in parking charges over the year. It amounts to a tax for being ill. Furthermore, all revenue from fines imposed goes to ParkingEye, the contractor managing the site, not the hospital.
