Why I am standing for Knutsford Nether

Roger Barlow is standing for Nether ward in Knutsford as the Liberal Democrat candidate. He says:

“Knutsford is facing tremendous opportunities. Parking, pedestrianisation, transport, recreation, popular involvement – everything’s changing for the 21st century. The Borough Council has got to recognise this and to act with imagination and energy. Unfortunately it shows no signs of doing so, and all we ever get is the usual arms-length inactivity and whingeing about government regulation.”

“New ideas and new enthusiasm. That’s why I’m standing for the Borough Council on May 3rd”

Roger is a professor of physics at Manchester University. In 1997 he was parliamentary candidate for Tatton but stood down in favour of the independent candidate Martin Bell.
